NowShowing.PH is now showing movies near you
How often do you go out to watch a movie? My answer last year would’ve been ‘too often;. This year is ‘tipid’ mode though so my answer is definitely not often enough! But when the mood strikes, what do you do?
A) Pick up a copy of the newspaper and look for the Entertainment section for the movie schedule; or
B) Just head straight to the mall. Bahala na ano abutan mo dun; or
C) Visit http://www.clickthecity.com/movies -> click on your City -> click on your Mall
D) If watching a movie at Ayala, reserve a seat ahead of time at http://sureseats.com
My answer was usually C, but now with http://nowshowing.ph this ,is my new movie schedule go-to!

The design looks clean and crisp and you can easily filter to your usual mall or movie title. You can see what is actually Now Showing and when you’re done with that and maybe if you don’t see anything you like, you can check out Upcoming Movies. Careful thought has been put into the moviegoer’s user experience, which I love about this. It’s dummy-proof. And then, my request for future iteration would be a quick link to IMDB—that’s my usual parallel step.
This is the latest brainchild of ProudCloud. Give it a try! Will it be your new movie schedule site or do you want to stick to your usual way?

We are now StartupPhilippines!
Pinoy Web Startup is now Startup Philippines
We’ve been here all this time, going to startup and tech events every now and then—though we’ve really had to focus on our consulting. Anyway, when we started in 2008, we had a hard time tracking down startups. Fortunately, business is looking up and so are startups and investors across the globe.
Some valuable updates here:
- Rebranded PinoyWebStartup to StartupPhilippines to accommodate startups in general and to promote our startups to the world!
- Changing commenting system to Facebook. Sadly, we lost all the amazing comments that were posted before.. but let’s look forward.
- Switched our CMS from Wordpress to ExpressionEngine. Much better suited to our community’s needs.
- Changed our twitter account to @StartupPH
Moving forward, I’d like to ask for your help in encouraging the growth of Startup Philippines. Tip us when you hear about some news-worthy stuff, let us know your insights and entrepreneur connections and share your startup experiences.
And you should follow us on @StartupPH.
See you soon.
